Hello and happy Monday,
Happy last day of March. WOW! That blows me away that we are already welcoming in April. This year is flying by! I hope that you are enjoying some warmer days and spring flowers. As I write to you today, I have a big cup of chamomile tea, and I’m under a big blanket because it is still very cold in my house. I am praying for some warmer days for sure!
No matter where you are, I want to encourage you to make yourself a cup of tea right now and take a moment for the Lord to speak to you this Monday as your week starts.
We have been talking about the gifts that we have received from Jesus because of His amazing sacrifice on the cross. Last week we started to explore the gift of the Holy Spirit. We talked about how Jesus didn't leave us as orphans but after His ascension back into heaven, He promised to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Today I want to have a part 2 to this conversation about the gift of the Holy Spirit. I want to share a few benefits of having the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Before we get into it, I want to remind us that if we have put our trust in Jesus, we have been given the Holy Spirit. If you are a believer in Jesus and His life, death, and resurrection, then the Holy Spirit has come into your heart and now dwells in you.
Here is a short list (this is not an exhaustive list) of the benefits to those who have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of them:
- The Holy Spirit brings comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
- The Holy Spirit will remind you about what Jesus said (John 14:26)
- The Holy Spirit brings conviction (John 16:8)
- The Holy Spirit gives us the power to do God's will, including miracles (Romans 8:11-13)
- The Holy Spirit teaches us how to pray (Romans 8:26)
- The Holy Spirit is the fuel that we need to have to be God's witnesses in the fallen world (John 15:26)
I hope that this list encourages you today and helps you remember the Holy Spirit's power in your life. I pray that as you go about your week you will let the Holy Spirit flow in your life!
Peace and joy, Kia Coquoz - TeaJoy Daily Devotionals
